Open Food Lab - space&matter

The food industry is neither transparent nor sustainable. We do not know how our food is made, where it comes from, or whether it is healthy. With so little knowledge, we cannot make informed decisions. Now is the time for a food revolution in which consumers and producers together control food and supermarkets are no longer pivotal.
Through a fictional architectural model, the Open Food Lab explores how we, as citizens, can shape this food revolution. In the Open Food Lab everyone can contribute to healthier, more sustainable and fairer food. By producing food, processing it, investigating new (bio-)technologies and thinking about a fairer food system, we can initiate a bottom-up change. Since all the knowledge is open source, innovations are shared quickly and the traditional food industry can be revised incrementally.
